The Spanish Department of St. Matthew’s Catholic School is joyful to announce our first cross country trip to San Antonio, Texas! Our 7th and 8th grade students are invited on this trip in order to deepen not only their knowledge of the Spanish language, but also their faith in our Lord.
Our trip will be March 24-26, 2025. We will explore caverns, go to a wildlife ranch, meander down the San Antonio River on the River Cruise and soak up the history of the downtown area. The second day the pilgrimage and private tour at Mission Espada begins. The students will walk to Mission San Juan, Mission San Jose, Mission Concepcion and ending with the San Fernando Cathedral where we will celebrate Mass. Day 3 is the Alamo.
The students will have fundraisers to make their trip possible. They will be hiking to the statue of Jesus on Big Mountain, Saturday, July 27th. They will take your prayer requests with them and pray at the statue. The students will be available to take your requests after the Masses the weekend of July 20/21. If you are unable to connect with a student, stop into the parish office and submit your prayer request or email mdeitz@stmattsaints.org. Donations are very welcome!
